After the staff meeting this afternoon, a co-worker turned to me and said, "I wish I could be more like you, Liss. You're not afraid to say what you think."
Which is true, I guess, but I don't think of myself as a role model for promoting strong, outspoken opinions. The comment surprised me because I see myself as pretty reserved in most situations. But I guess am pretty much the Mom of our team (it helps that I'm the only woman), telling everybody the way it's going to be. And it makes sense that I'd be the one spouting, since I've been around long enough to recognize and be annoyed by bullshit, but not quite long enough to give up and put up with it.
Which means it's all downhill from here.
Also, the kids were obnoxious enough today that I decided to start sex ed early, instead of doing more with Creative Narrative or Earth Science. Sex is the only thing that will keep their attention.
I suppose they aren't so unusual in that way.
