diva in training

This evening at auditions, Richard declared me a first soprano. Yes, me.

True, I can hit the notes. I even sound pretty good. But I'm still not sure I can do it. Aren't first sopranos supposed to be high-strung show-offs as well as lazy sight readers? I'm none of the above.

Yes, yes, I know those are stereotypes that don't ring true for the firsts in chorus; especially this year, attitudes seem less intense. That's a good thing.

Still, there are plenty of people around who could offer diva lessons.

** In the spirit of staying grounded: congratulations to the new HD. I know it's going to be fun. Especially "Creole Love Call." :)

Please don't become high maintenance on us. ;)

Well, for every Senior Diva, there's at least two, y'know, altos who can counteract the effect.

Diva-ette

Come on honey! You are one of us now, and we will breach no insults! We are what we are, that's why we can sing the way we do. You'll see. I'm sure you'll have no problem getting in touch with your inner diva.

I'm proud to have joined the club. I even have a make-up, excuse me, skin care catalog to help....

Congratulations! :) And, by the way, you didn't just sound pretty good, you sounded GREAT.

Being a first soprano is FUN! And I'm definitely not high strung but I'm not the best sight reader, either. I'm working on that, though. ;)
