diva in training

This evening at auditions, Richard declared me a first soprano. Yes, me.
True, I can hit the notes. I even sound pretty good. But I'm still not sure I can do it. Aren't first sopranos supposed to be high-strung show-offs as well as lazy sight readers? I'm none of the above.
Yes, yes, I know those are stereotypes that don't ring true for the firsts in chorus; especially this year, attitudes seem less intense. That's a good thing.
Still, there are plenty of people around who could offer diva lessons.
** In the spirit of staying grounded: congratulations to the new HD. I know it's going to be fun. Especially "Creole Love Call." :)
