miss_swamp: (teacher angst)

For the first time in seven years, I'm applying for a new job. Still with Seattle, but more flexibility, more money and less stress. It might mean the end of sex-ed questions for a while, but I promise I'll find other sources of entertainment for you.

I found out about it today and it closes next Monday, so I have a while to tweak the application essays and resume. With regard to the rest of life, though, this could not have come at a worse time.

So I'm telling everyone I'm applying to make myself less likely to back out.

Wish me luck.

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] amiable_lyons, we still need to talk about summer employment.

Looks really good - although I have NO idea what the STAR program is! Good for you!!!

It's the support program for first-year teachers in the district. Some of it is observation/evaluation, some of it is just helping people navigate, like, their benefits or whatever.

The only problem is you're only allowed to keep it for 3 years. But it'd open other doors.

Good luck! I applied for something myself - something that *gasp* uses my degree.

This job sounds well-suited to you. Would mean the end of the super-sweet commute, though.
