threatened by a store-bought pie

We're in Texas for Thanksgiving and tomorrow's football game. So far we have seen 3-million-year-old bones, gone out for the traditional Tex-Mex dinner and witnessed an awesome thunderstorm.

And I've baked two pies, 'cause the in-laws don't do that. They also decided to let the grocery store take care of the turkey and stuffing this year. The menfolk went and picked them up while I was in the shower, and came back with a pre-fab box that also included a pre-fab pie. So the table currently looks like this:



Mine are better. Dammit.

Without doubt yours will TASTE better. I wanted to call you last night about my cheesecake (water bath or no water bath... that is the question) - but I left BOTH of my phones @ work and had to go back this morning and get them.

Both the cheesecake and apple pie look lovely. Thank god! I went no water bath and put muffin-tins filled with water on the rack underneath. The cake didn't crack - so I assume it worked. Who cares how it tastes at this point!
